CLS completes data-center migration for FX settlement system
CLS said it completed a multi-year migration with Kyndryl, and that the first settlement cycle in the new environment processed nearly two million transactions worth more than $9 trillion. The companies described the project as strengthening security, resilience and operational flexibility, but did not disclose technical architecture or longer-term performance metrics.
Why it matters Settlement members depend on this infrastructure to complete currency payments. Operational disruption could create funding and counterparty exposure even when trading itself proceeds normally.
What to watch next The unresolved test is whether the new environment delivers reliable operation under stress; recovery-testing details and changed recovery targets remain undisclosed.
