Brent tops $110 as Gulf oil flows fall sharply
Brent reached $111.33 on Tuesday, its strongest level in five months, as the report linked the move to escalating shipping risks and reduced Persian Gulf exports. Kpler data cited in the article put flows at 8.5 million barrels a day, down from more than 20 million two weeks earlier; the report also says crews were safe after two vessels were struck off Jubail. The December 2027 Brent contract traded $23.37 below December 2026, indicating a much lower futures price a year out.
What changed Gulf exports had recovered to pre-war levels earlier in the month, but renewed strikes reversed that recovery: reported daily flows fell from more than 20 million barrels to 8.5 million in two weeks.
Why it matters US farmers face rising harvest fuel costs despite earlier relief measures; the reported diesel-price increase shows that policy support has not yet arrested the rise in pump prices.
