Arrakis Security says about 76% of enabled agents it examined had not run in 60 days, while 44% had been inactive for 180 days. Its analysis found that 22.9% of agents had at least one unsecured trigger, and 70% connected to a sensitive integration; among those, 99.4% lacked verified data-loss-prevention coverage on that connection.
Why it matters For organizations with dormant agents, inactivity is not equivalent to revoked access: an exposed trigger can reactivate software with its stored permissions intact.

The report says issues can cause applications to misread connection errors, interrupt handshakes, or lose session tickets; one fix is in progress, while no fix status is listed for the other three.
What changed Build configurations lose two misleading controls: no-ecdsa and no-ecdh previously left their named implementations present and have now been removed. The suggested alternative, no-ec, disables elliptic-curve support altogether.
Why it matters Applications using the affected DTLS listener functionality can make opposite operational mistakes: wait indefinitely on a failed connection or terminate one that remains usable.
What to watch next A fix for the KeyUpdate-related retransmission bug is in progress. Resolution of the other three DTLS bugs remains open; the report gives no fix status for them.

The company says these figures represent potential exposure, not losses already incurred, and reports that 81% of suspected digital fraud in its network in the first half of 2026 occurred during logins and financial transactions.
Why it matters For lenders and other account providers, a successful onboarding check does not contain synthetic-identity risk: one accepted identity can support borrowing and account creation across several services.

In a survey of 234 open-source contributors and maintainers, respondents estimated that roughly one in four queued code changes were low quality or AI-generated; maintainers at projects with more than 50 contributors put the share near one-third. The survey also found that about a third of projects have a formal policy allowing AI-assisted contributions, while three in four maintainers use AI tools to help review submissions.
Why it matters For maintainers, the immediate cost is diverted review capacity, not just the possibility of bad code being merged: even rejected submissions consume time otherwise available to sustain the project.

Google says thousands of its employees use the plugin daily; the report notes that security flaws are not specifically included in the reviewers’ checklist, though teams can customize reviewer roles.
What changed Google has made an internal design-review tool available as open source, allowing outside teams to inspect and adopt the workflow.
Why it matters Development teams should not treat the plugin’s approval as a threat-review result. Security assessment remains a separate task unless teams explicitly configure it into the reviewer roles.
What to watch next Google says support for development environments beyond Antigravity is coming, but the report provides no delivery date.

Its policy-based verification can stop a CI job when checks fail, but the tutorial uses the same test key to sign both the build and policy, a setup the report says would allow one stolen key to affect both evidence and the rules used to judge it.
Why it matters Release teams copying the demo’s key arrangement would create a single compromise point for both build evidence and acceptance policy, weakening the independence of their verification gate.

The release also adds tools including an XSS scanner, crawler, port scanner, and SMB share credential scanner, and updates the Kali kernel to 7.1.5.
What changed Kali previously recommended building Kali on Kali. The refreshed scripts now support Docker and Podman builds, reducing that setup dependency.
Why it matters Teams building custom Kali images can use the container route without installing the build dependencies directly on their host.
What to watch next The project aims to finish the remaining script refreshes for Kali 2026.4; this is a target, not a guaranteed completion date.
