UN rights chief condemns deadly rise in Sudan drone strikes
UN human rights chief Volker Türk condemned an escalation of drone attacks across Sudan, saying at least 306 people were killed and hundreds injured during the first three weeks of October. Türk said the UN had documented strikes attributed to both sides and warned that attacks were killing civilians and damaging essential infrastructure and services.
Why it matters For Sudanese civilians, the harm extends beyond those directly hit: destruction of essential services is forcing further displacement, according to Türk.
